intercooler charge pipe wrapping

Hi folks, im thinking of wrapping my intercooler charge pipe with heat shield wrap/tape as ive noticed the pipe gets really hot ! id like the temps to be s bit more stable. Im assuming this is just the heat given of the exhaust and engine !?! or will the turbo itself be pushing hot air through the pipe ? Has anyone done this mod before ? Is it worth doing ? Was there any benefits ?
Car is a 02 S3 8l on standard smic's

Get a front mount mate... wrapping the charge pipe won't do much if anything... turbo is pushing out very hot air and intercoolers work best if they have actual heat in the air to get rid of... std SMIC's are next to useless especially when the car is mapped...
