Getting insurance is not a problem, moaning about the price hike or lack of discount even with another year's no claim is normal but what I really want to know is how do you stop all the spam phone calls, emails and other such **** you get after you looked for insurance?

I know my insurance is due without looking at my documents or getting the renewal quote from my current insurance company cause of all the phone calls I get some people saying my insurance is due, do I want a quote.

Is there some database you have to remove yourself from or some tickbox you have to tick to stop this bombardment of sales **** from companies?

Yeah register your phone number with tps (telephone privacy service) this should stop any unwanted marketing calls etc. and as for emails just mark the address as spam then it should go straight to spam box. :icon_thumright:

Their should be a tick box to be able to opt out through the web journey....

If you are calling insurance companies up, then the majority will never ask you about if you want to receive marketing rubbish....you need to tell them clearly on the phone you want to be opted out.

    Did not know them.
    Just signed up all numbers.
    That should help.

Next time I speak to a insurance company I will make sure I tell them.

The ones that get me are the letters round about insurance renewal "We guarantee to beat your renewal quote".

Give them a call to either be quoted 3 times my renewal or for them to say we can't insure that car.

Insurance is on it way down (generally) but if you use websites be sure to tick that you do not wish to be contacted!
