Inner CV joint

Hi just a quick question are the front inner cv joint same as the rear ones they look the same i just want to make sure and double check. Thanks

Have a look at somewhere like euro car parts and see if part number is same front and rear

20(s) front axle

15 rear axle

I found the part numbers on etka look just about the same, all it is a friend has a new front one i can have but is rear one i need to replace.

looks like they are different think for now i will have to get a second hand driveshaft just to be going on with.

one more question if i take the fuse out for the haldex can i drive without rear driveshafts in this will only be for a week or so.

Only if you leave the outer CV fixed in the hub else you will ****** the bearings and your wheels will fall off...

Cheers Tuffty i will just leave the shaft in and put up with the clunk of the cv joint better than causing more problems.

Front appears to be listed as 1J0498103E or 8N0498103

Rear appears to be 1K0498103

i found out its £175 for new CV joint or 209.56 for new drive shaft with both CV joint for now just going to get a second hand shaft and when i have the money free mite as well just get a new drive shaft.

You can get a decent(GKN) rear inner cv joint from GSF for £65.

Thanks i didn't think any where did them lol been googling all day. Normally i would just get a oem one but after replacing my turbo on my drive last year with very little mechanical knowledge i realized how much i love working on cars so now i'm not working and back at college getting my motor vehicle qualifications so on a really tight budget.

Finally got around to replacing it old one was well and truly dead sum of the ball bearing had ******** off sum where. I end up buying one from GSF
