Inner CV Boot Replacement - Difficult?

Whilst replacing loads of suspension bits today I noticed my inner cv boot on the passenger side is split

How difficult is it to change on the S3? Does the entire CV have to be removed from the box or does it unbolt and split in two?

Removing the driveshaft is the easiest way tbh... easy enough to do... inner CV is bolted to the gearbox drive flange so undo a few bolts and its off... then you need to remove the circlip holding the CV joint on to the shaft and gently/evenly pull the CV joint from the shaft taking care as it could all fall apart if not held straight... make a note of how it all goes together and put it back together the same way...
