Info wanted re 2.0 TDI 170

Hi there,

I'm after some info on the 2.0 TDI 170 Bhp engines.
My father is chopping in his Saab and is set on an A4 S-line saloon - probably a 56-58 plate.
I've heard some bad rumblings on the Net about the 2.0 TDI regarding injector faults and the oil pump failing.
Are there any particular build dates or engine codes to avoid?

Any info gratefully received, as we're off to look at a few tomorrow morning.
I'm assuming there aren't any other problems I should be aware of?

Hi I would post this on the B7 forum dont think there were any 2.0 170 in the B6 format.

just google it - there's LOADS of info out there on it: big issues are around the pre 07 mutlitronics (£2000+ to fix) and all the engine models with the hex-bolt + fuel pump belt (the cogged fuel pump drive is far more reliable, but a £1500 job to fix it).

pm me if you're having probs... most of my info is based around the A6's and my dad and a few friends have been shopping for over the last year or so....
