This is a double quesiton, hopefully easy ones.

Is there an ignition live I can pick up somewhere in the boot of a 2005 A6 (C6)?

What is the correct name for the felt tape the manufacturers wrap around the original cables?

Also depends on what you're planning on running from the ignition on live.

    A relay.

Then two 50Ah sealed lead acid batteries, so they charge when the engine is running.

Where are you going to take the main power line from?

Fuses 1-11 are ignition ones, so take a spare fuse & use repair wire for trigger of relay.

Presumably this is to run a high power amp, so why not just use the remote on from the HU?

No, lead acids are for camping. Running fridge etc. I know its not really camping if when you bring that sort of stuff but i don't care.

How would I pick up a remote from a MMI Low system? Actually can I pick up RCA outs awywhere as well? I have two pair of Pioneer PRS Components, sony 4 channel, sony 2/1 channel and a pioneer slimline sub that came out of my Passat that are begging to be used.
