how to remove the mirror caps

    need to know as i want to take them off to paint black but dont want to go into unknown territory and wreck them

    There is a guide HERE for the B6, but as the mirror caps are the same I assume the removal would be too!

    Basically aim the mirror glass at the ground and put your fingers in behind it in the middle of the glass, give it a good pull to take the glass out. Be brave! Then unplug it and put it somewhere safe.

    I found it easier to remove the two screws and the plastic panel underneath, you don't need to but it gives you better access. Beware the screws may well have seized in the alloy mirror mount though.

    Then it's a case of levering and prising to remove the cap bit by bit, it's quite straight forward though.
