Hello

Recently there's been a few posts asking how to put pictures up on the forum. So I thought it was time someone did a full 'How To'.

Get Storage
Firstly, if you are wanting to display images on a forum you need to upload them to the internet. For this there's many options:
Facebook
Flickr
Photobucket
Or a free online storage account such as Free Virtual Drive
and many many more of course

Facebook
If you would like to use Facebook to store your pictures, you will first need to signup for an account. Once you have an account you need to login and then create a gallery.

Once done, use the option provided to upload photos.

When you are happy with the photo, click on the thumbnail to view it full size. Now right click on the photo and click properties. On the screen that pops up highlight and copy the full address labelled Adress (URL)

Now on you forum post, click on the yellow button above the post box with the picture of the mountain and the sun on it [IMG]. Alternatively, in your post type [IMG]

Flikr
If you would like to use Flickr to store your pictures, you will first need to signup for a Yahoo account. Once you have an account an have logged in, you need to upload your photo's. Ensuring you select the 'Public (anyone can see them)' option from the list.

Photobucket
If you would like to use Photobucket to store your pictures, you will first need to signup for an account. Once you have an account an have logged in, you need to upload your picture using the wizard on your home page:

Once done click on the 'Return to album' button. Now click on the thumbnail of your new picture at the bottom of the page.

On the right hand side of the new screen you should see a box with the following options:

Click on the text next to this will automatically highlight the text. Now you can copy it, and paste it straight into your forum post.

Free Drive
If you would like to use a Free Virtual Drive to store your pictures, you will need to signup for an account. Once you have an account an have logged in, you need to upload your picture using the java box at the bottom on the left hand side. All you need to do is drag and drop your photo's onto the box and it will start to upload.

Once the upload is complete, right click on the new file in the listing and click the 'Make photo public' menu.

Then right click on the file again and click 'Get link to this photo' now copy the address from the box.

Now on you forum post, click on the yellow button above the post box with the picture of the mountain and the sun on it [IMG]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3307/3455656915_0f7850cc75.jpg?v=0. Alternatively, in your post type [IMG]

Benefits of a Free Virtual Drive
Most of the free picture hosting services have a limit on the ammount of times an image can be viewed. Where as a FVD doesn't, it's also handy to have one single storage point for all your files not just pictures.

Have fun people, and happy posting!

I always use imageshack as there is no sign up and its free, plus you can't inadvertently delete your linked images.

I have done it now cheers. It was a little different for me to put the pics in threads so i'll add on how i did incase other people have the same problem.
OK, so from facebook, click on the picture to make it large, then right click and go to view page info,
from there you need click on media which is at the top of the new screen that has poped up,
then under address, scroll down them until you find the picture you are wanting to upload (that same picture will be there twice, smaller and larger version). You need to copy that address.

On your post click on picture of the tree, deleted everything inside and then paste the address you copied from facebook.

Hope this helps

I think imgur: the simple image sharer is the best for images. Can this be added to the sticky? It is by far the most straightforward and the servers are stable.

I assume you're using an image from facebook.
Make sure the image is on the page and not that stupid image in front of the page thing that facebook does.
Right click on the image and if you're using any thing apart from IE, you should get a copy image url or link or something to do with image and its location.
Click that.
Go to the forum, click the image button and paste the link in to that box that comes up and post.

I hope that makes sense. :)

Only if you use tapatalk and use the tapatalk hosted options.

I think I'm going to hold up for abit as for the past week, the display has constantly stayed on as per normal except don't know whether the mpg is showing correct figures at times.
