My remote on my Audi A4 1.8TSport 1997 seems to weak.
I have changrd the batteries on both remotes but you still have to stand near the car to lock/unlock.

I read on another forum(usa) that the anntena was under the back seat and needs to re-run to increase the reception.
I looked under the seat but just one big loom of wires?
    anyone where the wire is?

    Regards

I remember seeing on top gear when jeremy clarkson showed how to get better distance with an alarm remote. He stood close to his merc and pressed the remote to show it worked then moved further away and it wouldn't work. He then held it to his head and it worked, some how your head amplifies the signal lol.

It uses you head as a resonant cavity and focusses the beam out throough your eye sockets. RADAR uses a similar principle called resonant cavities. GEEK!!
