Where do mechanics write the service on them on this engine if they were to do so? Is it under the engine cover or somewhere else?

I have a 2005 A3 2.0 TDI.

In the service book there is a checkbox for toothed belt.

My service book hasn't been used in quite a while I don't think...

Then, I'd be booking a cam belt change with my mechanic first thing on Monday.

Unless you know where the car was serviced previously - many garages keep records.

I checked the timing belt cover and it says it was changed at 161K, I'm guessing its kms as I'm from Ireland and there's 230,000 kms on it now, and seen as 230,000 kms in miles isn't near 161 so it has to be.

So the last change was 70,000 kms ago I'd say, when will it need changing again?

I stick religiously to 60k/4yrs whichever comes first so that's about 96k-kms.
