After reading many reviews on the internet about the advantages of cleaning the throttle body, I decided to have a go myself. Since TV was rubbish last night, the throttle body got some attention! .. On the Audi B6 2.0 Sport there was a lot of dismantling to be done before you could get good access to the bolts holding the throttle body in place. But once dismantled you could see clearly the carbon build up.

I used some Carb cleaning which I purchased in Halfords for £5.49

    Halfords | Wynn's Fuel Injection & Carburettor Cleaner 500ml

I cleaned the Throttle body using a cotton bud and a microfiber cloth, as you can see it was quite dirty, however my previous car was worse! Once I had everything reassembled I used Vag Com to complete a re-alignment. The car drives much smoother now and is more responsive. If TV is rubbish one evening, give this a go!

Anyway below is some before and after pictures!

Nice work, there have been a few questions of late asking the best way to do this. If you wanted to write a decent guide to it then I'd be happy to add it into the DIY sticky.

Nothing on tonight either, what you up to?!

What did you have to do on vag-com to realign it?

quattrojames - Yea no problem I will put together a guide in as much detail as I can! Least it will help out other Audi owners! .. Just had a few beers last night, but gave the car a full valet today. Lovely and shiny!

Widemonkeys - I had a browse on Ross Tech website and there was a guide to help with the re-alignment. Here is the link ... Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: Throttle Body Alignment
