How do I make my car interior smell fresh?

the car sometimes has a fusty 'bad feet' smell (it hasn't got air-con before that's suggested as a root cause).

any ideas of how to make it smell fresh?

tried frebreeze fabric freshner and neutrodol. don't like air freshners as they always smell too sweet. I just want a 'clean' smell!

Auto glym do a spray air freshner thats a fresh smell and lasts a while too
