How do I know what code my engine is from the sticker in the sparewheel well?

Just a quick one how do I know what code my engine I presume its on the sticker in the sparewheel well, there's nothing that looks like AFB AKN etc

Its a 1.9 TDI 90 BHP SE 1996 if that helps

Oh while I remember when I start the car the battery light remains on til I rev it makes the lights brighter too any clues?

Look on your log book mate its on there...

Its one of the three letter codes near the top of the boot sticker, which is also duplicated in the front of the service book.

Post a pic if you want and i'll point it out.

My car has a stamp on the rocker cover which has the code and I am sure also has a sticker on the rocker cover which has the engine number and maybe code.

Just had a chance to look properly, the engine code on mine is 1Z so I take it its the last of the old generation 1.9TDI's that came across from the audi 80's . . anyone got any info on these ones like, common faults etc
