Please help, i have to replace the potentiometer that is behind the passenger seat belt which is known as the G356 Potentiometer, i can see where it goes but not sure how to go about removing the old one and replace it, i see there are 3 bolts that hold the housing for it in place but not sure if i need to undo those and dis-connect the rod that attaches it so i can remove the unit. Please help, warm weather coming !!!!!!!!! LOL many many thanks, Nick

    Hi there

I need to replace this part aswell. I understand it is part number 8HO 959 613 A.

    Two things:-

    1) Does anyone know a good place to buy this part and how much I should expect to pay?

    2) How easy is it to replace - I'm no mechanic!! Quick instructions would be great!!

    Thanks fo ryor help

    Regards

    Ian

    Hi chaps

No response on this yet - I won't keep bothering you but I thought I would try once more to get some advice on how to change this part, where to buy it and how much it should cost.

    Thanks

I'll have a look on Elsawin tonight (if i've time..) and see if there's help on how to do it. It's not something I'm familiar with I'm afraid.

    Have you tried TPS?

    Trade Parts Specialists

You'll probably need to ring/visit your local branch. Or email breakers on ebay who are breaking the same car as you have?

    Hi James

Just a note to thank you for your help with this.

I got the part from TPS as you suggested and used your diagrams to (eventually!!!) figure out where to stick it!!

Thanks again for your help - it was nice to have the roof off this morning on the way to work!!

    Cheers
