Strangely enough rust like build up has crept into the area between disc and alloy (see photo) on both rear wheels!

The discs are less than 6 month old (Pagid) and no problem on the front wheels.

I've tried WD40 and a specialised brake disc cleaner to no avail.

What else can I try? Also should I take it to the garage that installed them?

Thanks.

Thanks for the link.
That's annoying. Before the new discs I had OEM ones that lasted forever without any rusts!

That is unusual for Pagid as they have a fairly robust silver/zinc coating (Geomet) on the area not touched by the pads.

I put Pagid discs on my car just over one year ago and the hubs still look new.
Do you use one of the specialist brake dust removal fluids? Some of these these can attack this protective surface. I saw a thread a short while ago where OE discs had rusted badly inside one year.

Are you saying that the discs hub areas have seized to wheel and that you can't remove the wheels?

That Pagid silver paint is rubbish , it curled up and died when some Auto Glym Clean Wheels came into contact .

I haven't attempted wheel removal. Sadly don't have the equipment.
You're right about Pagid and I'm surprised too. I need to check if the garage pulled a fast one and used something else for the rears!
