    Hi all,

I am very close to buying an a6 avant in Ireland. It is a UK import.

Could anyone tell me how I could confirm if the engine is truely a 130bhp?

Either phsyically, or calling Audi UK or someone with the VIN/Reg ?

    Thanks in advance,
    James.

    James,

If you can, check the spare wheel well, there should be a sticker in there detailing the KW produced by the car, if it's 96KW then its a 130bhp

Failing that if it's a audi uk supplied car, they keep records of all the cars that they sell / service etc, might be worth a ring.

May be wrong, but I think by 2003 all the A6s were 130.

    Brill, thanks Mike and Mickey

  5. Failing that get the number off the ECU or read with a diagnostic tool or vag-com and I can check it that way.

    Guys,

someone told me that if the 03 avant avant se is 5 speed manual gearbox, then it is definately only 100/110bhp, and not 130bhp.....

    Is this true ?

    Thanks.

  8. On the A4 the 130 bhp engine was available with a 5 speed box. IIRC that engine produced 210 lb-ft of torque. The 6 speed version produces 228 lb-ft.

I would imagine that the A6 is the same

Correct - the 6sp manual has the higher torque (same as Multi)
