    hmmm combined with loss in power I would fear turbo whine is failing bearings
    is that where the sounds coming from?

    It does sound like it is coming from the turbo, any way i could get a turbo before Saturday?

    Looks/sounds like you have a exhaust gas leak from the front. Might be a cracked manifold/exhaust turbine housing. Impossible to say for sure over the internet though. The turbo doesn't sound healthy either way. Remove the TIP and check for play in the shaft.

    Is there white smoke coming from the exhaust? Maybe you're burning oil.
    Check the shaft, I think your turbo seals/bearings are out

    cracked turbo case or manifold i had this on my old punto gt

    im picking up a turbo with a cracked housing but internals are fine then putting the chra into the uncracked housing of the one with the bearings gone is you get me?

    if you get me** haha, dan from bbt said i could do this my self? has anyone ever done anything like that before if so how hard is it?

    There are plenty of you tube vids showing how to separate the CHRA....

    looking at the two video's would you say the turbo bearings have packed in? started it up the other day. it hasn't smoked at all in the front anymore. a lot of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust though. and the whining remains
