Hi everyone

I have come across an A3 DSG Tdi for sale with 70k on the clock, it comes with FASH with a rebuilt gearbox and a replaced mechatronic.

My question is how common is this fault and does it return? What causes the mechatronic to fail?

I have googled this and found countless problems with dsg and mechatronic issues on VWs and Audis which is kind of putting off from buying this car. Should I have anything to worry about if it has been replaced?

Considering the millions of DSG units out there, the failure rate is seriously small.
Just buy it and enjoy seamless auto changes..
I'm on my 4th car with DSG and all been 100%

Rebuilt gearbox and replaced mechatronic unit??? Didn't think that was the normal fix... its usually a new gearbox job I thought.
Think I'd avoid this car.

To be honest it put me off after I read how they go wrong!

my car had a new gearbox at 20k on the clock due to the owner complaing to audi about that it was pulling on load. no problems with it now over 60k
