Hi,

Today my horn changed from its normal pitch.. to horn youd expect to hear on a Citroen C1? I cleaned the car yesterday, however the horn was working perfect until the sudden change of tone? I wasn't sure if it was water, but wondered if this is normal or should I take it to Audi, considering the car isn't even 3 months old yet..
 
Most definitely take it back to Audi. Do NOT attempt to do anything yourself because you might void the warranty.

Chances are water has somehow got in but it shouldn't have !!!

It is definitely not normal.
 
Matty, your car is most likely fitted with two horns behind the front bumber. These two sound together, and should give a melodious signal as they sound off at slightly different frequencies. When the pitch suddenly changes, it is usually caused by one horn failing to sound. A single horn sounds tinny and weak (a la Citroen). As Mike says, take it back right away. It is possibly an electrical connection or water in the wiring that has cut-off one horn.
 
It's a special feature, after washing the car it thinks it's shrunk and needs a cute retro horn.

Seriously, on a 2011 car pop it in to Audi. They should do it on warranty. Get your bark back, big dog.
 
The horns are "high" and "low"... They shouldn't fail by washing the car though!!!
 
Thanks for your replies! Exactly what I thought - Interesting about the two horns, sounds exactly like that! I'll see how I get on until Saturday, if it doesnt go back to normal, I'll pop into Audi!

My horn sounds really tinny and weak. My previous a3 had a loud manly horn....

I suspect my horn is knackered after reading these posts, I just assumed the horn note had been changed from the 8L to the 8P

Can't seem to find a S3 horn on YouTube either as I really don't want a trip to the dealer without confirmation.

Anybody any links?
 
Or you could leave it and just drive about beeping your one horn frantically like a moped:lmfao:

I was hoping the horn might of dried out today, but.. started him up, went round the corner and woke the neighbourhood up with the most rubbish squeeky horn going! :( He let me down today, especially when a typical taxi driver blarred his horn at me when it was my right of way.. :/

Off to Audi then? :/

Horn still sounds rediculous.. Because its under the front bumper? will the front bumped have to be taken off?

Im going to avoid TT's for awhile anyway.. after seeing a guy with tights on getting out of it in the car park today..
 
the horn sits behind the 2 fog grills, towards the centre... closer to the main grill.
you could easily just have a look in there and if they are sitting right. still agree with the others and go back to the dealers with it.

and ahem... the shoes are gangsta! :cool:

I think the only thing attracted to those shows is the sun, they're the best solar cell known to man, you could power the whole of EU with the electricity they generate.

Hahaha thats because were bright and powerful ;) Must admit thought its an utter pain when the slight bit of sun comes out whilst cleaning it.. end up blinded and taking breaks!

Love the Sprint Blue though!
 
White is the coolest colour. Problem solved.

You dont need a horn to alert people of your presence anyway in a white car, they're so cool and eye catching that everyone sees you anyway. Sorted.
