i have a a6 tdi 2.5 tdiv6 quattro (180) got the car at auction have had her for 6 mounths now and no problems . but the last owner has drilled a hole in the oil cap for some reason . any one know why ? she runs fine dosent use any oil/warter.any iders ???

The first sign of the crankcase breather being blocked is a "POP" of air pressure when you unscrew the filler cap. Maybe the previous owner decided to drill the cap instead of replacing the filter. There are posts elsewhere on how to do replace the filter. Suggest you replace the cap with a complete one asap.

will it harm the car with the hole in the cap ?
