Unfortunately no... not yet, mixture of weather and other things slowed me down massively, got into a spot of bother so had to spend money elsewhere, then 3kids and christmas lol, where i live at the minute the drive is tiny so im on the hunt for a new home with larger parking area/garage, so hopefully everything will get going again soon.

Got a cupboard full of bits to be getting on with, b7 steering wheel, cruise/DIS, still figuring out my rear window retrofit aswell, got all wiring in place now but still no power to locks or windows,

Really can't wait to see this! How have you prepped the bodywork for the painters? Have they said anything about how they needed it from you?

I'm doing a load of body work at the moment so will be in a similar situation in the next month or so.

To be honest mate the last pics i put up is pretty much how its going in, they are fully prepping the rest, i was told i pretty much wasted my time priming, it would of been better if it was just all flat, i had to prime the quarters though due to the bad paint, im going to ask the painter to take plenty of pics throughout the work for me which ill put on :)

Thanks, that will save me some time then if I there's no need for me to bother priming. I'll just get it all flat and leave it in the capable hands of my local bodyshop.

Look forward to seeing the progress pics!

Hi all finally after 12 months the a4 has been painted, heres a batch of pics, ive only just picked it up, its not a showroom paintjob but for 900pounds (with left over materials) and the fact its a previous cat c im over the moon with it,

On a sour note, rang insurance before driving it home from bodyshop and they told me they wont insure it  but i got some quotes and got a new policy for 299 with adrian flux with a unfortunate criminal conviction and 6 points and a IN10 all declared with the paint colour change (£200 cheaper than i was paying) so im extremely happy :)

Obviously there is still work to do..... trims grilles to be refitted, ive ordered plastidip for grilles and to tidy up window trims, im on hunt for a 1.8t twin exhaust to sit nicely in rear bumper, also plasti-dipping roof and mirrors. I also have a set of rs4 18" replicas to be refurbed in gunmetal grey and fitted.

and you will notice one door blade is missing, its in the car requiring bonding on

    All thoughts and opinions welcome

Really like it mate, was going to say I didn't like the wheels but saw you've got another set to go on. What aren't you happy with with the paint job? £900 is very cheap though. Have they done the door shuts?

theres a few bits that hes missed when flattening and polishing he purposely missed the roof as i mentioned i was plasti-dipping it, one little blob of paint on the corner of one of the doors, and one little dent he didnt sort that i asked him too, but overall he did a lot of work he removed all panels and painted seperately, he adjusted bumpers so they fit better then they did, so i shouldnt complain, the small dent i can get done as a smart repair as i have paint left over,

Also think the insurance was helped by the fact the endorsement comes off in november and points i think are already spent

Yeah im hoping its not too good to be true, ie moneysupermarket not sending all the details, but i went through the quote before paying and it showed the the conviction, but not the modification, but there again i know that adrian flux are specialists in modified motors, so fingers crossed they dont change their minds haha, and thank you for kind comments.. ill update as and when i add the finishing touches....... :)

I am over the moon with it, taking it to a local car meet on wednesday to show it off, only the interior lets it down now, missing trims from the light grey to dark grey conversion and black carpet which im hoping to have this week, thinking of having the upper trims inc headlining redone in black then fit the interior leds,
