My TT has always ran a temperature of around 90, just the other day I noticed the temp went well in to the red to about 115 - 120 but my fans did not come on, I have since left the engine running idle and got the temp up with the bonnet open but still the radiator fans do not come on. Does any one have any ideas as to the problem and how it can be fixed DIY?

Just ran car and put air con on, both fans came on, turned air con off and let temp go in to red but fans didnt come on, put air con back on and fans came on....heat censor/thermostat??
