HIGH REVING WHEN COLD

I HAVE 2006 RS4 IS IT NORMAL FORM THE TO REV TO HIGHER WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR IN A MORNING

It should always rev slightly higher to stick more fuel through because it's cold. Like a choke.

You should here it back off after a short while. How long is this doing it for and at what sort of revs are we talking ?
