    Hi all

I have an A4 which has just run out of warranty (10th May).

The car had warranty work completed at the end of last year on the Multitronic gear box/clutch. No problems with this but the car has since developed another clutch related problem (although slightly different to the first).:motz:

Do I have any hope of claiming against the manufacturers warrany or is there no chance?

I would like to know what the general consencus is on this one as I fear I could be facing a rather large bill soon :crying:

    Thanks

    Chris

They may give you a goodwill gesture as its close to the warranty age if you have had work done before, but more than likely Audi UK will refuse to agree it and you'll end up forking out.

That's what I feared. The garage did mention a goodwill gesture but obviously wouldn't commit.

The fault has been there for 3-4 months but it's only just become obvious enough for me to realise it was significant. In addition, the car has been off the road for the last 2 months as a result of a minor (non fault) accident and I've only just got it back... Had I had the car during this time the fault would have been reported before the warranty ran out...

Hi, if it was an Audi Approved Warrenty, I've heard talk of a 'grace period' after expiry whereby you may be still allowed to renew it. Could be worth giving them a call to see. Audi extended warrenties aren't cheap though so it's up to you if you think it's worth it. Having said that, multitronic faults can be very expensive to repair so it might be worth considering.
