    Hi everyone,
I am presently on the look out for a Audi a3 as my old car (Nissan skyline R34gtt) is going thru insurance as had a lil front end bump. Oops.

I know I may not get a bhp hype like my r34, but more interested in torque.

I'm hope ing for your guidance and help in picking a car.

    Thanks
    Carl

hi Carl, welcome to audi-sport.net. The difference in the models is down to the year of your car. Iirc 8l models are pre 52/53 plate, 8p chassis is 53 onwards. Any pics? :) enjoy the forum. :) x

Welcome Carl sorry about that :) Welcome to the forum and I hope that you find the information you are looking for. For the £3,500 I would be looking for a 8P PD140 TDi.

It was/ is with bonnet, wing and front bumper and 1x bracket bent its not a total loss.

I've been given a bonnet and bumper for free off the skylineownersforum member (I've been on there 6yrs) which is fantastic. But due to rear wheel drive, winter, and I do the school run, it will have to go.

Hiya Carl, welcome aboard. What a shame, looked a great car. Adams right, the 140 tdi is a good choice and good to map if you decide to go that route.

    Thanks Sarah

What sort of torque can I expect from a stage 1 tune?

depends who you go with. I have used a few different ones in the past including Revo and been inpressed. Also depends if you go ecu remap or a plug and play box. Just watch your turbo doesnt go though (had that too!)

8p most probably, not bothered with bhp, as mentioned I buzz off torque and being quite a bit lighter than a skyline, power to weight comparison would, IMO, similar to stage 1 on my old skyline.
