I've looked at a couple of posts but after some more feedback!

    I own a vw bora tdi 130
    Sre clutch duel mass fflywheel
    recon turbo
    custom map
    audi s3 leather recaro trim
i next step is bigger turbo injectors etc
problem is deep down I want a Audi haha
hence needing some advice is the 2.5 any good once mapped?
is a Quattro that much better then a fwd? and as much pros and cons would be great cheers

lol, looks like no one wants to answer. This has come up before and got a little bit nasty, so I guess the guys with quattro don't want to upset the FWD guys, and the FWD guys are either reluctant to acknowledge or blissfully unaware just how absolutely awesome quattro is.

Plus side: It's great; say goodbye to wheel-spin, hello awesome cornering. Down side: Expensive, heavy.

I wouldn't buy another audi without quattro, but the other side of the argument is that for some people the extra cost just isn't worth it given how they use the car. But you don't sound like you're one of those.

edit: Warning: tongue in cheek comments :beerchug:

If it's purely for power 2.5 quattro with mapping and other mods will be good as the quattro system will hold the power at all four wheels, 1.9 fwd will be slower than your current car as it's the same engine minus mods. Other option is 1.9 quattro which would be great but again same power as the Bora until modded.

The 150Bhp has a gt2050v Garrett turbo and the 180Bhp has a gt2052v turbo. With a remap a quattro does wake up, still short gears in order to keep the drivetrain in one piece but once on the move they will take whatever you throw at them ! The clutch on these is good to 300bhp and 550Nm so you don't need to upgrade for a while !

If you add a set of larger nozzles and a bigger turbo then you start talking !

I have never experienced a FWD A4, so I cannot compare.
I can however, throw my 2.5TDi avant around corners - it has gripped batter than any other car I have owned and is very, very composed.

I have fitted coilovers and an RS4 rear anti-roll bar - both made a noticeable difference.

In terms of the engine, there aren't many "off the shelf" upgrades - once you have a remap done, if you want to go any further - its all custom work.
I previously had a 1.8T 20v in my Ibiza Cupra, all the mods were off the shelf - Forge intercooler.etc - there is pretty much nothing for the 2.5TDi unless you have a mind like Chris (adamss24) and can do it all yourself.

A remap did wake mine up, but im craving abit more power now.
Keep meaning to drop it off with Chris and leave him work his magic, but the mortgage payments say otherwise :crying:

That's what make's it more unique, easy "off the shelf" mods are not my things, i do want the stealth look though, OEM+...

Drop it to me one day and i'll see what i can do, i am sure once you get it in gear you will be motivated to work and save a little harder + i don't work that expensive as i have low overheads ! It's sourcing the parts that is rather expensive then setting it up properly so it works as it should. Lets say that i could offer a +250Bhp package for about £1500 and a 300Bhp package for £2000 which is not too shabby for the money !

Injectors, turbo, 3 Bar MAP sensor, remap for stage 1

Porting heads + lift pump, larger nozzles, bigger turbo for stage 2 !

Some models might require stronger intercoolers and some new boost hoses as the old ones keep blowing due to increased boost...clutch will cope fine if in good condition, however stage 2 is 650Nm + which can fry the clutch in no time with spirited drive !

By the way, my name is Chris !

    That's very tempting!
"must not dig out the credit card, must not dig out the credit card"

Cams & clutch have already been done.

The noise of the v6 with an aftermarket exhaust and hybrid turbo is just addictive and the wave of torque is relentless ! You won't feel sorry if you go for the v6, drop by and i will take you for a spin in mine...
