Hesitation

I have just started to notice a slight hesitation/cough when coming on boost in the higher gears. If I'm sitting at about 2k RPM in 4th or 5th and floor the throttle there is a little cough/slight hesitation just as its coming on boost. Its the only time I notice it and its now getting on my nerves - what could be the issue?

Boost leak perhaps?

Could be a coil pack breaking down that is under load more in higher gears, spark plug, turbo, boost leak, D/V............

Sounds like misfire or boost leak.

Could a few things, get a vagcom/vcds scan

my hesitation issue was temporally sorted by the cleaning of the MAF

I had similar problem with mine last week in second, to forth gear, but was removed when i cleaned the MAF, which was surprisingly dirty.
Still ok at moment.
