Any one on here know about Linux servers?
I work on Sun Servers which run on Solaris (similar to linux), whats the problem?
Had a mad day and will need to change the IP address on my Linux Server, since our broadband supplier has changed.
why? is it not set to DHCP / auto? normally Braodband IP is given / set by the host, not you.
or am i wrong here? its a while since i played with Linux.
other than that, a v quick google threw this up: http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch03_:_Linux_Networking
I have a mail server (SuSE Linux 9.3) and since our static IP address has changed, I need to change the settings on the server!
Our IT guy has sold up his company and can't help us , just great!
Thanks for the link, I will have a look!
fair comment! if you get really stuck i'm sure i can dig my old manuals out and help, but there may well be someone who knows off the top of their head.
