help what 1.8t engines are compatable

hi everyone im new to this wondered if anyone can help, just bought a 01 a3 1.8t with a blown AUM engine, i cant find one for love nor money but i have aquired a low mileage ARY from a 2000 tt 180bhp! will this engine work in my car??? any info is gratfully recieved

dunno if it will work or not but you can pick up s3 engines for around £800 - £1000 so ive been told

the oil pickup got sludged up, engine siezed, loads of filings in the head and sump, been told its cheaper to change the engine than rebuild this one,
with the engine im getting is full tt 180 quattro running gear, i only want the engine so 6 speed box, rear axle etc etc will be for sale.
