Hi all. I have a 55 plate 2ltr turbo diesel a3 sportback with the DSG box, the car developed a very faint rumbling feeling when turning left under load. At a recent MOT I was told the wishbone bushes were shot so I duly replaced all on both sides. However the rumbling and vibration is now even worse!!! I was told this could be the inner CV joint and as far as I can see there is no play.
This morning the car was up in the air on a lift and in neutral the drivers side wheel was rotated forward and back and this made a rumbling sound and the gearbox and also the exhaust rocked back and forward. I then tried the same with the passenger side wheel and the same thing happened?! I fear this is an internal issue with the gearbox? Anyone have any ideas???
