Every time i attempt DIY i regret it.. I am so annoyed.

Simple Stuff intially:

- Both rear brake lights stopped working (High Level Boot brake light OK)
- Brake light switch faulty when scanned with VAGCOM

New OEM Brake light switch fitted (local mechanic)

Still no brake lights, so I removed the rear drivers side cluster only to find bulb is OK & new one does not work either ?

When fitting the cluster back again realised the screw was no longer there to screw the unit back in ?
It must have dropped down inside the car chassy somewhere and I cannot find it? I will have to buy another from Audi i guess? How annoying Ahhhhh :banghead:

Any useful tips for my next attempt ?

I checked Fuses #7 ESP & Brake light switch & #14 Brake lights. These were Both OK

Not sure what to try next folks ???

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated?

Regards
Smiffy

brake light switch incorrectly fitted IMHO

Cheers Byzan I have heard they are quite tricky to fit. Will probably have to buy another as they can break easily ?

I have a pdf guide for fitting the brake light switch. PM your email to me and I'll send it.

Thanks for help chaps I have a nice shiny new pdf guide in my inbox ready to give it a go, kindly provided by Mr QuattroJames. Will post how it goes, hopefully it will just be the switch. Regards smiffy

I quattrojames,
I have the same problem that is described in the topic.
Can you send me the great PDF, please?

Thanks,
