HELP!!! AUDI A3 POWERSTEERING FAULT!!! + RED LIGHT ON!!!

Hi i have a audi a3 1.6 2004 with 85,000 miles on clock. When i start the car the red power steering light comes on and steering becomes really hard but if i leave it or drive about for about 15/20 mins then the red power steering light goes away and steering goes back to normal. Please let me know thank s

Its electric isn't it so no fluid? Would get the car scanned for codes though...

i have had it checked but nothing comes up.. do you reckon it will be the battery? i have also installed a custom cd player in the car with subwoofer wiring etc and put some new 18" alloys on it. Does alignment cause this?

Alignment wouldn't effect it but your wiring for your stereo maybe causing issues through the canbus....
