Hello, new to Audi with a B6 S4.

Hi all,
I'm Phil and I'm new to the forum. I've been involved with VW cars and Club GTI for ages and have a very well know MK2 Golf.

I've just bought a 2004 B6 S4 Avant as a project for a bit of a bargain. The car seems to have been well used. Wanted to say hello and I'll probably be asking a few questions over the next few weeks.

The car is met black with grey leather, 126k miles. It's tiptronic with satnav and tv.

The service history seems good and is full via main dealers and specialists, the chains and guides were done at 120k but the car does have a misfire and the hot start rattle. I've order 8 new coil packs, plugs, oil change parts and the parts to change the oil check valves for the heads (hot start rattle?)

I'm looking forward to getting it sorted.

Thanks for the welcome, I'll try and get some pics up soon.

I've been diagnosing the car and it seems the faults are due to worn mechanical cam adjusters so i'm going to pull the motor and overhaul the cam timing gear.
