heat loss

2005 B7 tdi
temp at 90 checked in vcds all ok
no fault codes
very little heat through vents all flaps ok etc
gets upto temp as normal not slow
any ideas ?

Yep, your heater core is either full of crap or on it's way out. I had the same problem but couldn't get both tubes off the heater core so ended up flushing the whole coolant system and refilling. It worked. Refilled with Audi G12++ bottles from ebay.

hmm when its up at full temp and hear turned on i get normal hot air
withing a few mins its going cold again
so turn it off for 5 mins back on and same thing heat then cold

That's what I had. It may be you have some air trapped in the system.

If you set the air to different directions to say feet, face, screen, does it then blow hot in any of those positions, wonder if its a flap issue, do a basic setting to reset the flaps, but strange blows hot then cold afterwards.

defo heater core needs flushing. i has the same problem. would start warm and the cool down. it happended to me in winter and it was ****ing freezing. lol. flushed the heater core and took for a drive and boom heat. no let me down since. give it a try, nothing to loose. Hope you get it sorted
