Is it possible to make my headlights come on when unlocking the car ? I know the question about auto lights has been asked a million times but this isn't auto lights as such. Somebody mentioned to me a while ago they thought this can be activated in VCDS. I have just bought myself some DRL's so it would be cool if it could have them coming on when i unlock the car.

Also, would i be able to wire the headlights up to the ignition so that the sidelights (DRL's) are on permanently ?

    Cheers

Yeah, hopefully somebody will be along with a definitive answer. No, i don't have auto lights. Would be good if it could enable the lights on unlock somehow

I did this on an E36 3 series using some diodes and linking the interior light feed to the sidelight feed. Angel eyes turned on when you unlocked the car and faded out (3 secs) when you locked it. Presumably a similar mod would be effective in the B7... providing it doesn't throw bulb warning errors etc...

    I did the same.

Still have a load of diodes here too if anybody wants one.

Very easy if you know the wire colours as all the lights wiring goes to the back of the headlight switch.

On the E36 I took a cable from the centre roof light, down the a-pillar etc.

This was roughly what I did.
