Hey all,

well I thought I would test them the other day as only just got the car, and I was told you have to have the lights on and hold down the lever for the windscreen washer jets and the headlight ones would come on after a while,
but this didnt happen, any one have any idea why this could be?

Cheers Dan

Have you got headlights on full, not just sidelights??

Secondly, when you say hold the lever down, do you mean you are pulling it in, so that it sprays the windscreen as well, oh and finally do it for at least 5 seconds...

Let us know how you get on, if this doesnt work, try the fuses and also VAGCOM.

Cheers
Nilz

probably fuses mate mines stopped working and thats all that it was!

..also make sure you have enough fluid in the bottle as it shouldn't do it if the level is too low..

They are forced out by water pressure from the pump. They can get gummed up if not used for a while. You can prise them out of the bumper using your fingernails and check that they run up and down freely/give them a clean.

I have the same problem too. Where abouts is the fuse to replace? I had a quick look through the Haynes manual but didn't have any luck. Thanks Steve.

Believe the fuse is in the usual place on the side of the dash, you will need to have your door open to see it.
