New MOT rules have specifically outlined this kind of thing as a failure - just to let you know!

"not visible from a reasonable distance due
    to excessive damage, deterioration, or
having products on the lens or light source"

As long as it's visible from a reasonable distance, you're ok.

I've got light tint on mine (6%), can't tell any difference when driving.

I'd put money on it that it's only the blackout and dark smoke tint that will fail.

Why would anyone bother with 6% if it's so unnoticeable?

As for dark tints, surely the idea of ANY light is to be seen as SOON as possible and to see as FAR as possible. Everyone talks about brighter lights, yet some still feel the need to darken them!

A simple question. Would any of you fit lower wattage bulbs?

Or drive with sunglasses on in the dark?

The lamin-x at 6% is a protective film that will help with stone chips and glass breakage. With my Xenon units now nearly a £1000 a piece i think £30 is a good investment if it saves my lenses later.

I read it as "not visible from a reasonable distance due to damage" OR "deterioration" OR "having products on the light or lens source". I suppose there's always different ways to interpret it, and at 6% it probably won't make much odds but just saying to be aware that some anal MOT testers may be looking out for anything like this.

How is it un-noticeable if my lights are tinted?

Lots of ASN members have 6% tint Lamin x, it makes the lights look darker. Therefore......noticeable:blink:

Very nice. Did you notice ANY lack of visibility/ light projection driving at night with the Lamin-X installed?

APB & Elliot, very easy to fit, half an hour max.

Tim, honestly can't tell any difference with regards to light output. I've since put white halogen bulbs in, which has further improved output.
