Just been told by rac that the head gasket is gone on my 1998 s3 any one got ideas on approx cost to get this job done ?

ive paid £250 over in blackburn for a golf gt tdi this time last year. this is a funny little tool to give u a rough estimate... try it.

I think youll be looking at £400+ and you may even get some stupid quotes like £600+. This is what i was getting quoted a year ago. Turned out to be a cracked head which totalled £1200, inc a few minor additional works.hope you get it sorted without too much bother.

I have done a few 20v head gasket changes and i do it for £500
