Ok lets talk headlight washers. Every now and then, when i use the washers on my windscreen, i see a mist come of my headlights. This is more noticable when i have my headlights on.

I have just spent 10 mins in the carpark trying the see if there are any jets pointing at my headlights or if the bit of plastic opens.

Does anyone have any ideas or should i book in ffor the nut house now? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Headlight washers only work with the headlights on as far as i know. The little plastic cover on the bumper pops up like an alien /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If you've got the 'bit of plastic' you've got headlight washers, as it says above, they pop up when required.

Park next to a plate glass window and you should be able to see them do their stuff.

Do you have Xenons? If so, washers are compulsory in the EU, its a good way of spotting aftermarket Xenons.

If you don't have Xenons, you must have ordered them and need checking into the nut house, I know several good ones, most of us on the forum live in them from time to time (24/7, 365)!!

Now where's my funny white coat?

To be fair,he may not have actually ordered them.
He may have bought a used or already-built car.

    www.cliniquedemiremont.com I've got a room waiting for you ;-)

As the others have said, the headlight washers pop out when the headlights are on and when the windshield washers are called into play. Have someone actuate them whilst outside the car, it's actually pretty funny to watch.

    Don't be special... [IMG] /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The headlight glass gets no way near hot enough... it's purely becuase it's a high pressure jet sprayed over a wide enough area to do any good and the jet is very close to the surface it's spraying on...

The headlight washers come on if you activate the windscreen wash for longer than a second or two. Makes a nice misty flash at night.

The washers only work with the lights on and I think they wash the headlights every third wash of the windscreen.

To force them to pop out wash the windscreen and hold the wash for a few seconds and it will activate the headlight wash as well.
