Has anyone done this.

I have a Alientech powergate box, (which is the same as the ST3) for my B7 140 TDI A4 S-Line, and my friend has exactly the same motor.
Now the question is has anyone out their managed to use their tuning box on two separate ECU's????

I would imagine that i can simply plug in the device to my friends car and away it goes. Or is their more to it than that???

Its synched to the indavidual car sadly. I hope it won't let you try, i assume it will just tell you no. You can get it unlocked to suit a different car by wiping the old data and buying new maps IIRC

But wiping my cars data from the device, and using it with new files for my friends, Will i be able to re-install my data which is previously saved on my laptop???
