Handsfree connection

Hi all,

Newbie and my searches for this have not found much. I will keep trying so apologies if this is the rebirth of an old thread.

I have a 1999 A6 with Audi Sat Nav Plus (CD Version).

I need to remove the head unit from the dashboard to wire in my Nokia handsfree kit. I have not managed to see if there is anything stopping my from pulling the Head unit out of the dashboard or even if i need to remove parts of the dash.

If anyone has any guides, PDF's, pictures or any websites that can tell me step by step how to remove the head unit as obviously dont want to break anything or scratch any of the dash.

I appreciate any response.

You need 2 sets of Audi HU removal keys, a lot of patience, and be very gentle. Removing the glovebox is advisable as this will allow you to push the HU from behind.

Where do you insert the HU Keys as i cannot see any space in which to place them.

There are 4 small slots on the front of the HU, 2 at the bottom, 2 at the top

Popped in to the local Halfrauds and i guessed it. No Audi HU Keys.

Does anyone know where to get theses from apart from swinging by the nearest Audi Garage.
