Hand break won't release

Hi all,
Hope someone could help me with my problem, my hand break wouldn't release the other day so I called a auto tech who came out to me, after half hour he managed to release the hand break with his comp, he told me its was the back left passenger calliper motor that had burned out! I took it to garage for them to replace motor on Friday, been on phone with them today to see what's happening because they said it would be ready on Friday!! Apparently they been waiting for auto tech man to come back, when I phoned them again at 3 they said he has been but he had to go out with my module because he said it had burned out!!! Surely this would of been picked up 1st time when they put the diagnostic on!!!
Sorry for being a long story just feel like I'm getting done over from the garage!!! Cheers
