Well my 2.5tdi sport decided to shear the lower front suspension arm and hit the deck just as I turned into my drive.

I had just driven back down the M6 from Liverpool, so that's one life knocked off now.

After jacking it up carfeull to save my nearly new tyre, I wipped it off and just made it to the motor factors in time to get a replacement.

Problem is the the second lower arm wont go back on and looks like its about 2 inches off. If I could force it on the wheel would be further back than it should be.

    Half shaft?

took the half shaft off and the tripod joint had popped out, basically making the total length longer than it should be, explaining why I cant get the bugger to fit back together.

Cleaned it all up, regreased and it is loosely back onto the gearbox now.

Cant for the life of me find the torque settings for the 6 spline bolts that mount it back onto the gearbox.

Ive found the settings for the lower arms, ball joints etc, but cant find these

If anyone has access to this info it would be much appreciated.

Hopefuly can see light at the end of the tunnel now

    Cheers

    Simon
