Just had one of these fitted to my S3,and wasn't sure what to expect beforehand, but I did know I wasn't happy with the persistent understeer, even after uprated ARBs and kW v3 suspension, which removed some of it,but certainly not all.

Anyway, after a trip to AMD,(who did a very nice job of fitting the switch in an unobtrusive spot in the dash cubby-hole),and after about 40 odd miles since,it's just a shame Audi didn't fit it with one of these as an OEM option even.

It really does sharpen up the handling, and I was surprised by how much more like my old GpN Escort it feels in terms of handling balance.

Thanks to Shaun,Pat and the rest of the guys at AMD.

Got any pics of where the controller is fitted and did you get the wired or wireless controller?

Have you tried switchng between sport and race and what is the difference like? Also if you don't mind saying - how much did it cost?

Sorry for all the questions! As you can probably tell I am quite interested in one of these...

I love the race mode so I fixed it on Race Mode even I had the wireless controller...
The car felt more neutral when I had to make the 270 & 360 degrees turn at the carpark...
The most satisfied mod so far...

No probs....I had the switch fitted into the cubbyhole under the dash so it's nicely hidden(that was AMD's suggestion).

It cost about £1k all in inc a good bit of time to lift the interior and route the wiring in from under the car.
I'm told some fitters simply leave the switch somewhere in the boot as a way around that.

Sport and race....haven't had much time yet but will report back on that...Race mode leaves the clutch pack engaged under braking as far as I know, but I was advised not to leave it in that mode all the time.
Sport works very nicely, and does a good job of making it feel and react much more like a 4 wheel drive than a 2 WD with occasional 4WD.

Can't wait to order mine!!! :yahoo:The haldex controller together with the WOT Box should be pretty impressive...although im a little worried about the WOT Box's effect on the clutch.

Have you attempted any launches yet? Would love your feedback

I seriously wouldn't bother with a WOT box if I had any designs on the clutch, gearbox and drivetrain lasting for a long time.
I know there are people around who do use these things, but you're asking a lot of the drivetrain.

Launches...again not really.....my car's an everyday drive, and I don't want to be changing the clutch too often, but it does hold on better and turns in way better.
There's much less squirming from the front end,and the overall feel is far more neutral....overall a lot like my old Escort, but a lot more comfortable!

Sounds like it handles like the RS4 now, a good mod and I like the stealth switch idea, well done Alex.

I think the latest gen have an uprated haldex so as other poster said would need the new type of swich, a worthwhile mod especially at this level of tune. No more mods for me this year though but it's good to have a plan :)

I've not driven the RS4,but the Escort was a pretty aggressive 4WD with Quaife diffs all round, and straight cut gears etc, plus rose-jointed adjustable suspension(basically a Proflex equivalent),and this actually now gets quite close, which for a road car as opposed to an ex-race car,is saying something...sure,it's a bit podgy by comparison,it has more roll, and as yet the brakes are not even in the same planet, let alone the same league, but it's a lot easier to use the power, and I'm glad I've done things in this order rather than rushing out and splurging the cash on a big turbo from the outset.

You are following a very logical route be good to see the next step, the Escort sounds awesome.

I have a nice set of AP racing brakes for sale when the final carriers and hoses are released, this would sort your braking out without a doubt :)

Gen IV stealth controller with wireless controller on race mode FTW! One of the best mods I feel everyday.
