H&R Spring orientation

ive just bought a H&R spring kit with koni shocks, just a quick question on spring orientation

the spring are not the same shape the whole way up, with a tighter coils at one end, is this the top of the spring that would meet chassis?

i have found split opinion on this and dont want to mount the springs upside down,

H&R website says "If the spring is smaller at one end and larger at the other, the orientation should match OEM factory installed springs."

anyone who has fit these to a 3.0 quattro confirm for me?
