ATTENTION! I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILTY/LIABILTY FOR ANYONE USING THIS GUIDE. YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK! Temperature problems have been resolved, previously car was running between 60-75*C now at 90. I bought the thermostat from local auto parts supplier for £5.99. Tools 10mm spanner/socket Rachet Extension Allen Key Mole grips Small flat edge srewdriver Coolant I sprayed the area, where the bolts were with WD40 to loosen them up How To: Remove engine cover I made a little space by disconnecting the alternator plug Using mole grips remove the clamp holding the coolant hose and pull it back BEWARE OF COoLANT COMING OUT, BEST LEAVE THE ENGINE TO COOL IF HOT Now i used a rachet on the bottom bolt and an allen key on the top but just experiment to see what you feel comfortable with Remove the seal, I used a small flat edge screwdriver, Now remove the thermostat Beware of a lot of coolant coming out, i lost about 2Litres here. Refitting New thermostat Seal on Pipe housing on Pipe on Clamp on Re-attach alternator plug Top up coolant, start engine with heaters on, run it for 10mins till 90*C reached. Turn off, make sure coolant is on MAX. Put on coolant cap, put on engine covers and go for a drive, temp should now be running near 90constantly once engine is hot. Took about 45mins for all this. Hope this helps, as its much easier than the other guides on different engine and very do-able to any novice. If i forgot something please let me know or maybe a mod can modify this.
