Had a wickid day apart from my gearbox being destroyed on track
Any-one got any pics?
will post when i get home Jas, mostly vids though for me as misus had camera and i spent (what seemed like)most of the day sat in the queue!!
Good to meet ya fella and everyone else that turned up..... defo gonna GTI inters this year to spruce up my **** 1/4 mile times (14.9 was the best i managed)
How did ya get ya car home Jas?
When is GTI inters ?? Need to get up there and get an accurate 1/4 mile time...what was Sunday like then, many S3's/Audi drivers turn up ??
Leggy from what i have heard inters are more likely to be inaccurate times when compared to Pod... no doubt someone will correct me if im wrong...
there were quite a few, think it was over 10 S3's over the whole day (some left and some came late).... a couple A4's, and S4.... and then there were a few more on other stands with diff clubs
I know what your sayin about the queue Tim, I only managed 4 runs and then got fed up of waitin. I managed 3 at 14.2 then finally got a half decent launch and got 13.9. Think i saw your car in the queue to but wasnt sure if it was you.
yeah i saw ya mate, you were with another forum werent ya? remember seeing ya car on the walk around (didnt recognise your car as one off the forum).... there were a few dolphins there on the day...kind of ruins my argument that silver is the most popular colour
They are really good times fella, what were you launching at? mine was roughly at 3k although the last launch i dont know what i was at as i got ushered forward and before i had time to think the lights had hit green...
What lovely weather, first time for me at the pod and on the strip. It's quite obvious more practice is needed.
I had two runs against two modified Mk1 Golfs. Won the first with a time of 15.5 and a slow start, totally messed up the second run against a stripped out Mk1 . (My clutch is slipping badly since remap, well thats my excuse anyway).
Good to meet a few of you and really enjoyed it overall, gives me an excuse to get the clutch sorted in time for the next one.
yup good to see ya matey..... best get the touch up pen on those alloys.... think i have a video of one of your runs, misus mistook another dolphin as mine...will post asap including the rocket car and the 911 turbo
Was a good day, have got over 3 gig of photos that i'm going through now, will post some S3 pics up in a few mins
Likewise, lol - you know you still want them though!!!
Cool, hopefully its of the first run.
i do mate and you know it, pitty you didnt leave ya car long enough
Cool photos mate...a couple cars I know, wish I'd of gone
Here are a few pics....
that looks like me next to the black TT
I`d have refused to be near him with those wheels on that TT
that was you, i cant rem what time you got, but you beat it off the light
yeah i got 15.9 and he got 15.5, he took me on the last few yards, he was ruinning vagcheck stage 3 with FMIC etc etc so i wasnt too bothered...although his start was terrible
all fun n games, i should of done some runs really was humming and harring too much so decided not to.
never mind mate, theres always the inters which sound like they asre far more favourable D
sure is, next time will pay for the runs early so i cant back out lol
I'm made up some1 got sum pics of mine on the strip. My mate managed to miss me out of the photos on the strip. Just managed the empty strip. But he managed to get the jet car. Cheers!! Lol. Does that mean I should take on the jet car next time??
Tim, yeah i was on the vag owners stand. Was a last minute thing. There were a couple of Dolphins there, including the one that girl was driving. And she was on the strip. I looked at hers more than yours if i'm honest. Not for the car though.
I was launchin around 4k i think. to scared to look down. Only had that one good launch though, the others it bogged down.
Good day though. Anyone else have any more times?
Thanks for showing up guys, was nice to meet you all.
Jason, sorry to hear about the gearbox mate, how did you get her home?
I got home to find the ret of the stickers on the mat,lol
swatch...just checked my vids and saw mine bogging down on my best start, defo need to be higher than 3k revs that i was launchin on...
MArk, great job at organising mate, brilliant day and sooo glad ive finally 1/4 mile'd the damn thing, although a lil practise needed
Our TQS launches best @4k, just dump the clutch and let the electronics and haldex sort it out,lol
Jase: What time did you manage on your first run before the box blew?
yup i think im gonna follow you on this at inters(didnt av ****** to drop at 5k), really want to get an fmic fitted before then.... want to break the 14.5 barrier as a minimum
Does anyone know which are these wheels ?
Are they Mak Iguan ?
Only had 1 run and didnt get the best of starts i got 15.5 im sure there was another second in the car though easily. Shame i didnt get any-more runs
I think they are Vogue/Wheelmania Mystique, click on the red Mystique icon at top of the page in this link.
i like the wheels but they do look too big on this car.... next size down id say
I did like those wheels alot.
I'm seeing some tempting wheels lately but can't be forking out so much for them!! shame
i just see it as a false economy..... yes we spend loads of cash on our cars but for me there is a limit im prepared to spend given the item im buying, purely because its dead money when you minus the benefit of the part
Yes that are these !! Tnx ! They are awesome btw
Look that's my car in 3rd pic!!!
yes i agree and spose i could have worse looking wheels.
had to laugh, i have video of the race above with the dolphin and the white bora/golf hybrid thingy...that guy pushed it all the way down the queue and lost by quite a margin.... although dont know if he improved on his own time or not...
Dan, if you quote ALL the pictures in a thread again, I'll (sell something to raise the petrol money) drive up to cobham, and key both those silly extra doors you car shouldn't have
That is all:end_of_discction:
what wheels are on S3 0OOH?
Guys there's more photos here enter you time slip time and you can order any pics, i know it's expensive but if any one wants any, i might get a couple, we might be able to organise some sort of a deal.
The website pics don't really do them justice, i did look on the day at full res ones and they look amazing.
I enjoyed the day, nice to meet you all, we would have had a video of me destroying Tim down the strip but he bottled it at the right at the end
I think his wing mirrors weighed him down to much being the genuine ones!
My best was 14.4 and i also got two 14.5's, I don't think my car has much more in it all my starts were pretty good, the reaction times were all between 0.200 and 0.300 and never missed a gear, first run i took it to just over 6k in every gear which was my fastest and the other two i changed 5k ish, i don't think it makes much difference what revs you change gear in within reason as long as you get the start-1st-2nd perfect you should get a good time.
