OK I am looking for some independent advice and where better to come to, than here.

So my installer is strongly suggesting that I go GT2871 (he has a K04 G5 GTI that runs a 13.28 1/4mile and K03s POLO GTI that runs a 13.71 1/4mil) and up until recently I was defiantly going to do so, but most of my buddies have been suggesting I go K04.

I currently have the AGU motor which has about 250000 KM on the clock. I do plane on doing the motor before changing the turbo and fitting S3 cams and injectors.

Although my Audi is not my daily driver I do want something that is reliable and can do 1000km trips at an time. I also want something that goes like hell when I want her to.

So again GT2871 or K04 it will help if you can support your choice.

Chalk and cheese springs to mind...

I suggest you do a LOT more research before starting any work.

GT2871 will be laggier bottom end but will make more top end power than a K04... maxing a stock K03 and you are looking at 280ish hp... maxing a GT2871 and you are heading up to 370ish hp...

GT2871 will need larger injectors than S3 ones anyway and S3 cams will make no diffirence as they are the same profile...

Surely the middle ground is a GT28RS?

If its currently completely stock, then my advice is to go for a garret from the start.

by the time you've factored in the cost of a K04 (especially if its a hybrid one) and all the parts that need changed to convert the car to K04 fitment, then you might as well just convert to Big Turbo, and choose a turbo thats the correct size for your power goals.

If you go K04 (or K04 hybrid) and then decide you want more and end up going big turbo some point later, then everything you've bought already basically ends up useless and needs replaced. Go GT28RS from the start, and you just need to swap out the turbo.

"Goes like hell" ..well then those turbos are not the right choice :ermm:

Whats Your budget for the build?

I'm currenlty running with 2871r and think its the right choice for daily driver. Dyno showed ~360hp with 1.3bar but now it has limited the boost to 1bar, so around 310hp I guess.. But some tiny man screams everytime I try to slam the S "Moooooree poweeeer", so here we go again..

As aragorn said go for the garrett, cause its almost the same amount of money anyway..

EDIT: How about GTX2867R or GTX2863R?

Why S4 injectors? from what I understand they are rated at 350cc @ 4bar... no where near enough... Siemans Deka 630's @ 3 bar will do the job... Bosch 550's should do too but maybe borderline... 630's are good for 400/450hp
