Hi all,the car dealer dropped off my '07 S3 with 20,000 mls yesterday and all was fine,my mate came round last night and had a look and fired her up and let it idle and all was well, today i started it up to go and get some fuel as it was desperatley low and it idles like a pig and just about ticks over, also it revs itself up and down up and down... (up to 2000 rpm and back down) - so filled her up with fuel thinking it may have been because it was so low and took it for a blast but still the same !!
Anybody suffered this or may know what it is or have any advice ?
My previous car was an Astra VXR and it never missed a beat in over 2 years, also dare i say it - it seemed more fiesty than the S3 ? Thanks in advance

    whats your location?

you need to get someone with vagcom to scan the ecu to see what fault codes are recorded

    or get the AA out.

Having driven an S3 and a VXR, I'm with you on the urgency issues! The VXR is like a scalded cat compared to the S3, the S3 actually gets the power down though and is superior in every other way.

erratic idling can often be an air leak. As said, back to dealer. They can check it for a fault!!

Back to the dealer, get it sorted! Nothing worse than your car not running properly! :sorry:

lo...get it back to the dealer ? what the f*ck do they know. Like i say, if it dosnt have a fault code...there is no fault, period.
Yea i know its **** but Audi only employ "technicians "............not mechanics.

I had a similiar problem when i got my MY09 s3. the revs would search up till 2000rpm. vagcom did show a fault, but audi couldnt fix the problem immediately.
it turns out it was air leak as the vacuum pipe wasnt properly connected, according to the technician
this was only discovered after audi replaced the throttle body on a 3000km car - a ZAR8000 job
