In my mind the Golf GTi was always more than the ultimate Golf, it was the ultimate hot hatchback. I think the 2.0 litre TFSI is a great engine, but it justn't doesn't distance the latest incarnation of the legend with the rest of the also rans. To truly return the Golf GTi to its rightful place in the hot hatch pecking order, it really needs to blitz all opposition.

In many ways the R32 is the true successor to the original GTi. The only problem is that its go-faster body kit add ons ruin the subtle sophistication of the GTi look.

So give me an R32 that looks like the new GTi and I'll be happy.
